BEHIND THE MUSIC
Fiona teams up with Musical Director of Riverdance, Cathal Synnott and Ireland’s premiere young producer, Mark McCabe, to create an exciting and emotional contemporary Celtic World album.
The album is truly a showcase of this unique young talent - Fiona sings, composes, produces and plays the piano on The Last Rose. In her own words she says of the album, "The Last Rose is my story. How I have loved, lost and grown as I have travelled through my life. I believe all music has a message for everyone - you only need to free your mind to the emotion…"
Her enchanting voice blends with the beautiful playing of outstanding musicians including Cora Venus Lunny on violin and viola, Robbie Harris on percussion, John O’Brien (Riverdance and Celtic Woman) on pipes and whistle, Andreja Malir on harp and Des Moore (original Riverdance guitarist) on Spanish guitar.
The album features new songs from Fiona and writing partner Cathal Synnott, John McGlynn of Anúna and others, whilst including stunning new interpretations of traditional songs, plus those of more modern Celtic writers such as Lord of the Dance composer Ronan Hardiman and Secret Garden.
